Since July 1, 2021 and the application of the “climate and resilience” law, the properties Energy Performance Survey has been completely redefined in order to fight against energy sieves (classes F and G of the said survey) taking into account the high nature in their energy consumption.

Properties classified F or G will thus gradually be subject to provisions aimed in particular at:

  • impose the performance of energy audits for all sales of single-family homes and collective housing buildings in single ownership (from April 1, 2023)
  •  freeze the increase in rents (since August 25, 2022)
  •  prohibit the rental:
    •  dwellings consuming more than 450 kWh of final energy per m² and per year, from 1 January 2023
    • G-rated properties starting 2025
    • E-rated properties starting 2028
    • E-rated properties starting 2034
